Contract to Scuttle EX-HMAS Canberra on behalf of DMO for the Commonwealth of Australia

Overview:
Birdon Group’s Marine division is responsible for the decommissioning, preparation and tow of EX-HMAS Canberra from HMAS Sterling in Western Australia to Geelong in Victoria. The vessel, once prepared, will be scuttled to create an artificial reef and enable recreational diving.

Contract to Disassemble and Dispose of EX-RAN Fremantle Class Patrol Boats (FCPB)

Overview:
Birdon Group’s Marine division executed this contract on-site in Darwin N.T. as each FCPB vessel was decommissioned by RAN. A total of eleven vessels were decommissioned and the contract included project management, planning, coordination, monitoring, control and reporting, Contract Management, Environmental Management, Quality Management, Security and Safety Management.

Sydney Ports Corporation

Overview:
Birdon Group’s Marine Division successfully tenders for the annual dockings of Sydney Ports Corporation’s Fire Tug Vessels. Additionally, the Marine division has completed full overhaul and refit of several pilot vessels, operated by Sydney Pilot Service.

Defence, Commercial & Luxury Refits

Overview:
Birdon Group’s Marine Division operates a 400 tonne undercover refit facility and 1000 tonne dry-dock facility. The Marine Division undertakes Defence, Commercial and Luxury refits on an ongoing basis and enjoys an extensive array of repeat business stemming from our quality and schedule capabilities.
